Description

Fashion Design is an extension of learning from Sewing 1 & Sewing 2 that focuses on clothing construction and fashion accessories. This is a 12 week course and will meet once a week. Students MUST have taken Sewing 1 & 2 as a prerequisite (or have equivalent experience; ask me if you have questions about this).

In this class, students will be able to select custom clothing projects from an assortment of patterns that I will provide. They will also have the choice to sew fashion accessories, such as hair accessories, purses, scarves, etc. Students are also welcome to pick out their own patterns and submit them for approval. Students should provide their own material for this class. Hobby Lobby has the best selection of apparel fabric (locally), but there is another great place in Anaheim called M&L Fabrics that has a HUGE variety of fabric! If shopping for fabric is too overwhelming, you can purchase from me, but keep in mind that my stock is limited so they may or may not like my selection. Please let me know beforehand if your student plans to buy fabric from me.

If you choose from my patterns, please reach out to me so I can let you know how much fabric they will need. Students should come to class prepared the first day with their pattern and fabric selected.

**I have had a lot of interest expressed in Fashion Design class. Currently, I have only one spot available for this class in my home studio. If spots fill up before you can sign up, I have space at HEC on Thursdays, or you can look into my new upcycle sewing class where students can also make clothes!**
