Homest Sewing Storage and Organization

I always love sharing good things when I find them! I recently discovered a company called Homest who makes craft accessories: sewing machine covers and craft storage and organization. They have a lot of great products, but of course the ones that stood out to me were the sewing machine covers and the rolling sewing machine tote.
Let’s start with the sewing machine cover. I have 4 machines that sit on my sewing table all the time. Even though I use them almost daily, they still collect dust on them and it’s kind of a pain to have to dust them all the time (it’s sometimes hard to get in all those nooks and crannies!) I’ve been thinking about a solution to keep them covered and thought about making covers to go over them but let’s be real, who has time for that? Not me, not with everything else I have going on! Then, I discovered this company and found their machine covers; they make them for standard machines as well as sergers. I decided to get just one to try out before buying any more. Let me just say that I love this new cover and will definitely be returning to buy one for my serger! I love that it’s clear (don’t ask me why, but I like that I can still see my machine, lol). It looks neat and clean and it’s super easy to throw on top of my machine when I’m done sewing for the day. I don’t have to unplug my machine or take off my top spool of thread, either. I simply place it on top and walk away! Simplicity is key, people! I like fast and easy solutions, and this was it for me! It’s easy to wipe down, there are pockets on the sides for accessories and the best part of all…it’s only $16!! I’m not sure that I could’ve even made it that cheap!! If you are looking for a machine cover, look no further! This is it!
The other thing I want to tell you about is this traveling tote for sewing machines. I suppose you could use it for any kind of crafting accessories (scrapbooking or crocheting or whatever!) but for obvious reasons I use it for my loaner sewing machine. There are a couple of classes that I teach throughout the week (outside of my home) where I need to bring my loaner machine for a student. I was just carrying it before and it was kind of a pain. I noticed a couple of my other students using this tote when they bring their machines to my class and I saw how perfectly it worked them! So I decided to get one for myself. Let me tell you, it’s great! The main part of the tote fits the machine perfectly. There are lots of pockets on the inside and on the outside to store other sewing accessories (scissors, thread, measuring tape, etc). For students, this is perfect because they don’t have to buy and carry a separate sewing box; they only have one thing they need to bring and it is even on wheels, so that makes it even easier! It has an adjustable handle and straps as well. There is nothing they didn’t think of 😉 I will totally be recommending this carrying tote to my students who are looking for an easy way to transport their machine and supplies!
